unintentional camping

This is a nice photo of our night in Page, AZ and what happens when tent poles aren't properly replaced in your camping equipment and also the joys of not having batteries for your new air mattress...but mostly what happens when there is no room at the inn.

When did you go to AZ? My brother used to live in Phoenix and we would always go through Page to see him. It is so beautiful!

So was the lack of trees, shrubs, plant life of any variety by strategic manuevering on your part, or are you really in the middle of a sand dune? 'Cause I gotta tell you, if it's the latter, I'm not putting Page AZ on my To Visit list anytime soon!

We were on vacation from 9/13 to 9/18 and yes, we are sleeping in the dirt...we "set up camp" late at night and woke up the next morning VERY early to break camp (wasn't that hard) and leave the campground before anyone could see how pathetic we were. Rex and I have such great luck at being pathetic. Page is nice and we would have enjoyed it had there been a single empty hotel room out of the 18 hotels there. Yes, Rex and I are so lucky.
